But she's a few thousand kilometers away from me now :(. Maintaining a relationship over the phone and through SMS is difficult.Things are too easily misinterpreted because the stimuli doesn't stimulate all the senses and the fact that sometimes gadgets aren't user-friendly enough to use all the time. Mobile technology has yet to reach a point where human emotion and gesture are conveyed accurately. And it doesn't help that the telecommunication giants charge exorbitantly for calls either.

Good thing she's coming back on Sunday, which means that in a few hours or so I can see her when I talk to her. And touch her hand, or lean on her shoulder. Or hug her when she's feeling low, and comb her hair when she's stressed. I love the way she looks when she's sleeping, at once content with the world. Or when she feels love and feels loved and she squeezes three times back. I miss holding her hand, and eating dinner with her. And letting her sleep on my lap as I drive. I love her because of the small gestures she makes that hopelessly try to quantify love. And that being with her is the most comfortable place I can find in the world.

La Paz Batchoy and Crazy Bikers

Driving around Manila is quite challenging, especially on 8 way intersections without traffic lights. The trick is to constantly inch your car to the center of the road until the other cars have no choice but to give way to you - this usually works - and since the method is quite known to everyone driving in Manila, is also the reason for most gridlocks.

I was in one of those intersections a few hours ago, and being familiar with the rule of inching the car, I dutifully did what I know, oh so well, works. Then came a speeding bike. Apparently, the driver watched Mission Impossible 2, one too many times and thought he could maneuver his way through. Fat chance. He had to make a sudden stop just to avoid my car and to top it all off, he was the one who got pissed :P I think he had one too many retard sandwiches.

Or he played GTA and it got to his brain. I digress.
The MMDA should do something about the reckless bike riders on the road (specifically EDSA).

On the lighter side of things, I tried the instant La Paz Batchoy from Lucky Me tonight. The tag line of the brand says its "true to the taste". The question all should ask is, true to the taste of what? I was fortunate enough to try Ted's La Paz Batchoy in Iloilo and this (I'm eating instant noodles as I type) doesn't taste anything near La Paz Batchoy. Good thing it came with Fita crackers - although Puto would have been a better side dish.
